Story
A sex-agnostic podcaster and a newlywed rabbi fall in love; find out if their relationship can survive their very different lives and their intrusive families. Originally titled “Shiksa,” which is also the last word spoken in the first episode. I watched the series over and over again. Really funny and captures so much of the essence of Jewish family life. Smartly done, with great characters and acting. Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and the other key characters were wonderful, especially Noah’s mom (the quintessential Jewish matriarch), Joanne’s sister, Noah’s brother Sacha, and Sacha’s wife. I really hope there’s a second season, where we explore Joanne and Noah’s relationship more and see what the future holds for them personally and in their careers. I think there’s room for character development for both of Joanne’s parents, especially her relationship with her father.
